The Spanish company Sensing&Control has launched a powerful platform for energy management based on cloud computing, achieving significant savings in almost any type of installation or market.

Sensing & Control, with its broad and deep knowledge in hardware and wireless monitoring equipment, has relied on 4-Noks' technology to include their devices in enControl energy management platform.

Sensing & Control is very pleased with the results obtained by 4-Noks' ZigBee devices integrated in their platform. "We have developed an interface that focuses on what is important - the savings," says Richard Croyle, CMO at Sensing&Control. "enControl hides the network configuration and complexity of multi-sensor configuration, making this task transparent to the user. The wide range of 4-Noks devices, such as the ZG-ETH gateway or ZR-TIDCI-M pulse counters, and 2embedcom support was important to us in achieving our objectives".

Sensing&Control already has important customers and facilities, such as the power control system installed on the MediaTIC landmark building, located in Barcelona's 22@ district. There, amongst other sensors, ZG-ETH gateway and ZR-TIDCI pulse counters have been installed for the measurement of electricity consumption in the main electrical panel.

200m² Office

enControl was installed in summer 2011 in an office in downtown Barcelona. Just two days after launching the system, enControl detected that the outside temperature was lower than the temperature inside the office, yet the air conditioning was working. In just one week, enControl demonstrated that this was still the case. At the end of the week the customer turned the air conditioning off, opened the windows and managed to save 600KWh per week, equivalent to 240 kg of CO2 emissions (data obtained by the ZR-TIDCI pulse counter dedicated solely to the monitoring of the climate machine in the office).
